Annual Tsirang Tsechu |
|
The people of Tsirang celebrated their annual three day Tsechu from the 23rd till 25th of March which was held on the Tsirang Dratshang. The Tsechu was graced by the presence of Dzongkhag officials, monk body and the people of Tsirang. All the devotees witnessed the three day Tsechu with many different types of Mask Dances like Raksha Marchham, Bardo chham, Guru Tshengye chham to name a few. The second and third day were more auspicious as the people got the blessings of the Chhoeje Gyalpo(God of Death) and the Guru Tshengye( eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche). The people of Tsirang sported their best looks with the males wearing brand new ghos and the females wearing new kiras accessorized with traditional Bhutanese jewellaries. This year there was a new outlook in the Tsirang Tsechu with Mendrelgang Lower Secondary School performing an act to create awareness for prevention of HIV/AIDS and Damphu Lower Secondary School forming a body called the Y-VIA(Young Volunteers In Action) who actively participated in cleaning, guiding and maintaining decorum in and around the Dratshang. The celebrations finally settled down with the people witnessing and receiving the blessings of the Guru Tshengye Thongdrel on the 26th of March. Thus, the Tsirang Tsechu finally came to an end but people will be awaiting again for the dawn of the next Tsechu with much pride and jubilation. |
