MONSOON FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT |

With monsoon on peak, Tsirang Sports Association have organized its monsoon football tournament for the public’s recreation from 15th August 2009.This year there are twelve teams(highest till now) participating from various gewogs and one of the team from Drugagang, Dagana in the tournament. Enthusiasm was shown towards the tournament by both the players and the spectators as more then 100s’ turn up everyday to watch the match.
The first match was played between Tsi Dzong(Dzongkhag team) and Mendrelgang MSS-A where Tsi Dzong dominated the game and won the match with a comfortable (3-0) victory and in the second match Damphu HSS trashed Drujeygang(6-1).
On the second day, Mendrelgang Middle Secondary School played against Lions. Both the teams were equally match and although they both had various chances to win the match, the match ended draw (1-1). Same day there was another match between Teen Spartans and 15 Brothers. The match was easily won by the 15 Brothers.
The final match will be played on 12th September 2009. The tournament is funded by Bhutan Football Federation.
