Tsirang Dzongkhag Administration Damphu Hospital
There are total four health facililities in Tsirang Dzongkhag, a district hospital delivering secondary health care services and four basic health units delivering primary health care services. Further the primary health care services are strengthened through 12 outreach clinics that operate on monthly basis. At the grass root level the village health workers are the focal health personal who in close integration and constant monitoring and supervision of BHU health staffs facilitate health care services specially the public health services to the public.
Damphu Hospital
Damphu General Hospital established in the year 1976 is 20 bedded hospitals with 37 regular staffs and 7 ESP/temporary supporting staffs. This hospital caters to 12 geogs/4 BHUs of the Dzongkhag and neighbouring geogs/BHUs of Dagana Dzongkhag. There are different units in the hospital delivering curative as well as public health services. These include: • Administration section • Emergency • Indoor/Ward • Operation Theatre • CHU-community health unit • Indigenous unit • Out patient department 1. • Physiotherapy unit • Eye unit • OPD unit • Dental unit • x-ray unit • Laboratory unit • Minor OT • Operation Theatre • Malaria unit • TB unit. • Pharmacy unit/store unit.
Each unit has a trained health staff as the in charge of the unit. The District medical officer who is the technical head in the dzongkhag serves as the overall superviser for all clinical and administrative issues in the hospital.
For tertiary care facility and specialized care, the referral centre for Damphu hospital are Gelephu central regional referral hospital and JDWNRH national referral hospital. Different units of the hospital also deliver curative and emergency outbreak management services to periphery geogs on interval visit to schools, ORCs and BHUs. Hospital infrastructure: The hospital has an area of 9.07 acre as per the recent survey conducted in 2007.The infrastructures are:

There are two ambulances for patient referral and emergency evacuation of the Patients from far flung areas.
BHUs
Under Tsirang Dzongkhag, there are 4 periphery BHUs namely: Patalay, Mendrelgang, Khorsany and Tsirangtoe catering to 3 geogs. There are total 10 staffs in the BHUS. These BHUs provide primary health care services
The BHU and public health activities, health sector planning, implementation and monitoring activities are carried out by DHO/ DHSO in close coordination with DMO. DHO/DHSO is the focal person for health information and management system.
