ACCOUNTS SECTOR |

Till the bifurcation of Department of Budget and Accounts into DNB and DPA, the present Accounts section was known as Finance section under the National Finance Service. The sector was headed by the Dzongkhag Finance Officer.
The bifurcation of Department of Public Accounts from DBA resulted in the creation of two sectors in the dzongkhag level, i.e the dzongkhag Accounts Section and the dzongkhag Budget sector.
At present the accounts section is headed by the Dzongkhag Accounts Officer with five Accountants and Five Gewog Accountants. As a back bone of the organization the accounts section works with inter relation to all the sectors, besides its parent department, the Department of Public Accounts. From here we can say that the work load of the accounts personal is the product of the no of sectors and the activity each sector carries out besides other adhoc activities at the national or ministry level.
To meet the increasing demands without compromising the quality and increasing the number of accounts personnals the accounts section is trying to adapt the latest methods of systems with directives from the department of public accounts. Main hindrance faced at the dzongkhag level is the lack of infrastructure.
